Hermann is great for cycling!

Would you rather bike flat trails or hilly roads?  It doesn't matter, Hermann has it all.  Across the Missouri River from Hermann is the Katy Trail, a rails to trails path, while the rolling hills around Hermann are popular with road riders.

The Katy Trail is a 275 mile crushed limestone trail that crosses the state of Missouri.  Near Hermann it follows the Missouri River and offers some great scenery.  From Hermann you can ride directly to the trail by crossing the river on the dedicated bike trail on the bridge and riding about 1 1/2 miles the McKittrick trailhead.  From there I recommend heading East.  It is a more scenic route with less car traffic and more shade.  Which ever direction you go, you won't be disappointed.

Road riders will enjoy the low traffic, rolling hills that surround Hermann.  Many routes can be found on the Internet including MapMyRide.com and HermannMo.Info/Biking.

What ever you prefer to ride, the best part is you get to enjoy the wine at the end of the trail!
