What's Happening in Hermann in April?
April in wine country is wonderful! The flowers are blooming, the birds are singing and the heat is still at bay. You can also go to a winery and get samples without a fight. Take advantage of the slower pace and really enjoy yourself.
Here is how I would spend a weekend, if I were you:
Leave work early on Friday and drive highway 94 to Hermann. Arriving just in time to make a dinner at The Cottage Restaurant And Gallery before picking up a bottle of Norton and heading to the Apfelbaum Cottage (Where I'm staying of course). Sleep in as late as I want on Saturday, then go for a lesurely walk through the neigborhood, taking in the architecture and atmosphere of this quaint town. By late morning I'd be ready to roll. The path of my wine tasting would vary depending on the weekend and the events at the wineries, although I'd probably end at Adam Puchta so I'd be closer to my dinner at The River's Edge Restaraunt for the primerRib. (Be advised - The ferry is closed) Saturday night is for dancing so I'll take my wife to Simon's On The Waterfront.
Sunday Morning, its off for a short bike ride on The Katy Trail before heading home and back to real life.
Events at the area wineries include:
April 11th
5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt: - Bias Winery
April 18th
Antique Show - Hermannhoff Winery
Robllerfest - Robller Winery
April 25th
Norton 10 Year Vertical Tasting And Dinner - Stone Hill Winery
I guess April 4th will be quiet, so you can enjoy the wineries to the fullest!
