Riding the Katy

Last night we made our lodging reservation for trip down the Katy Trail and I am excited. My wife, daughter and I will spend six days riding about 40 miles a day and sleeping in motels and B&Bs along the way. I am really looking forward to it.
My greatest concern is the attitude of a 10 yr old girl with a sore butt. She is a good rider and has done 30 mile trips before, but not six days in a row with only her parents. To add to the situation, she is a type 1 (juvenile) diabetic and when her sugar levels go low it can really affect her mood. I just have to be patient, understanding and willing to take a slow pace.
Our itinerary looks like this:
Saturday: Clinton to Sedalia (36 miles) and stay at Maxine's Rooms For Rent. (It turns out the Scott Joplin Ragtime Music Festival is that weekend)
Sunday: Sedalia to Rocheport (51 miles) and stay at School House B. This will be our longest day but it should not include and peripheral rides since both places are near the trail head, as are the restaurants and such.
Monday: Rocheport to Jefferson City (35 miles) and stay at the Best Value Summit Inn in North Jefferson City. This motel is 4 miles uphill, but they will pick you up at the trailhead for a small fee.
Tuesday: Jefferson City to Hermann (43 miles) YEAH HERMANN!! Of course we will stay at Apfelbaum Cottage, since we own it and all.
Wednesday: Rest day in Hermann....because we can.
Thursday: Hermann to Augusta (34 miles) and stay at Klondike County Park. This will be the most rustic of lodging but fun non the less.
Friday: Augusta to St. Charles (27) and home!
When we get back I will share pictures and info from my trip, so check back in the middle of June.
