Graham Cave State Park

During our trip to Hermann last weekend we visited Graham Cave State Park and did some hiking. Located about 20 miles away from Apfelbaum Cottage, it is easy enough to reach and provides a lot of beautiful natural entertainment.

It was a bit wet due to the recent rains, but shoes and pants are washable.  We hiked about 3 miles and my daughter played in the stream for a least two hours.  The rain made the stream flow nicely making it especially fun for her.  She didn't even care how cold the water was.

From a cave formation stand point Graham Cave is not very impressive, but archaeologically speaking, it is very important.  Man and animal have used it for shelter for 10,000 years.

If you like to hike, Graham Cave is worth the drive.  Check out during your visit. Here a map.
